BOSTON, Mass. -- Senior Andy Sukeforth (Middleboro, Mass.) placed third out of a field of 107 runners to lead the Bridgewater State University men's cross country team at the Codfish Bowl Invitational held at Franklin Park in Boston.
Sukeforth covered the eight-kilometer course in a time of 26:15. He was just 19 seconds off the winning time of 25:56 posted by David Wilson who ran unattached.
Junior Mark Waller (Andover, Mass.) was next across the line for the Bears as he placed 32nd overall with a time of 28:10. Waller was followed by sophomore Luke Devin (Westwood, Mass.) in 48th place (29:10). Freshmen Benjamin Gordon (Holbrook, Mass.) and Michael Sanpietro (South Easton, Mass.) rounded out Bridgewater's top five runners in 72nd (31:42) and 78th place (32:39), respectively.
The Bears placed sixth in the team standings.
Next weekend, the Bears compete at the Tri-State Invitational hosted by CCRI.
