Avery Bouchard Named MASCAC Runner of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the third time this season, Bridgewater State College senior Avery Bouchard has been named the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week.
A native of Fall River, Massachusetts, Bouchard captured the MASCAC Men's Cross Country individual title as he helped the Bears post a second place finish at the conference championship meet held at Stanley Park in Westfield on Saturday.
Bouchard covered the five-mile course in an impressive time of 25:41.94 as he outdistanced the second place finisher by nearly 26 seconds.
Bouchard was one of three Bridgewater State harriers to earn MASCAC All-Conference honors. Joining Bouchard on the all-conference team from BSC was fellow senior Brian Stewart (Scituate, MA) who finished in third place, and MASCAC Rookie of the Year, Ryan D'Arcangelo (Norfolk, MA), who placed sixth.
As a sophomore in 2005, Bouchard advanced to the NCAA Division III Championships finishing 69th overall in a field of the nation's top 215 Division III runners.
