Bouchard Named MASCAC Cross Country Runner of the Week
BRIDGEWATER, Mass. - For the second time this season, Bridgewater State College senior Avery Bouchard has been selected as the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week.
Bouchard placed second at the 13th Annual James Earley Invitational, covering the 8K layout in time of 25:48.71. The Fall River, Massachusetts native was the first collegiate runner across the finish line as he helped the Bears finish seventh overall in the team standings.
Bouchard has run very well in BSC's first three meets as he placed third (26:29) at the Williams College 8K Purple Valley Classic on September 27 and 15th (25:29) at the five-mile UMass Dartmouth Invitational on September 20.
As a sophomore in 2005, Bouchard advanced to the NCAA Division III Championships finishing 69th overall in a field of the nation's top 215 Division III harriers.
