BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University freshman Dimetri Morris has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Indoor Track & Field Rookie of the Week.

Morris won the 60-meter hurdles with a finals time of 8.59 seconds at the Tufts Jumbo Invitational this past weekend as he helped the Bears capture the team title at the meet. The North Andover, Massachusetts native also finished 14th in the long jump with a leap of 18 feet, 3.75 inches (5.58m).

Morris currently ranks ninth in New England in the hurdles.

The BSU men's indoor track & field team will compete on Saturday (10:30 AM) at the Massasoit Classic hosted by Springfield College.
