BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University junior Ryan Bain has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) GEICO Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week. GEICO is the proud sponsor of the MASCAC weekly awards program.
A native of Tewksbury, Massachusetts, Bain placed first in the javelin with a toss of 182 feet, nine inches (55.70m) last week at the MIT Final Qualifying Meet.
Bain will compete in the javelin at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Thursday afternoon at approximately 5:15 PM. The NCAA championship meet is being held at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio with the University of Mount Union as the host institution.
Bain recorded his NCAA qualifying mark of 194 feet, seven inches (59.32m) earlier this season at the 12th Annual Eastern Invitational on April 19th.
