Men’s Track & Field Competes at NEICAAA Championships

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Several members of the Bridgewater State University men's track & field team competed on Friday at the 2019 New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Outdoor Championships hosted by Southern Connecticut State University.

Freshman Jacob DeAndrade (Taunton, Mass.) placed tenth in the preliminaries of the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.99 seconds. DeAndrade also posted a time of 22.14 seconds in the preliminaries of the 200-meter dash to finish 17th overall.

Sophomore Joshua Moore (Cape May, N.J.) and junior Ryan Bain (Tewksbury, Mass.) placed 12th and 18th, respectively, in the javelin. Moore posted a mark of 180 feet, eight inches (55.08m), while Bain checked in at 177 feet, six inches (54.10m).

Junior Lamont Haynes (Boston, Mass.) placed 12th in the preliminaries of the 400-meter dash with a time of 49.35 seconds. Sophomore DeAndre Thomas (Montgomery, N.J.) finished 26th overall in the 400 with a time of 11.22 seconds.

Sophomore Nikolas Beshere (Winthrop, Mass.) was the 15th runner to cross the finish line in the 10,000-meter run as he recorded a time of 34:12.69.

The two-day NEICAAA Outdoor Championships will continue on Saturday.
