Men's Track & Field Posts Eight All-New England Performances at DIII New Englands

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University men's outdoor track & field team recorded eight All-New England performances during the third and final day of the 2019 Division III New England Championships hosted by Williams College on Saturday.

Freshman Josh Quinnie (Attleboro, Mass.) placed second in the finals of the 110-meter hurdles with a career-best time of 14.89 seconds and junior Lamont Haynes (Boston, Mass.) finished second in the 400-meter dash with a season-best time of 48.48 seconds.

The Bears' 4x100-meter relay squad featuring Haynes, freshmen Jadin Bruneau (Taunton, Mass.) and Jacob DeAndrade (Taunton, Mass.), and sophomore DeAndre Thomas (Montgomery, N.J.) placed fourth with a time of 42.26 seconds.

DeAndrade also finished fourth in the finals of the 100-meter dash with a career-best time of 10.77 seconds, while Thomas placed eighth in the triple jump with a leap of 44 feet, 4.75 inches (13.53m).

The Bears' 4x400-meter relay quartet featuring Haynes, classmates Joshua Higgins (Fitchburg, Mass.) and Olivier Ndikumana (Amherst, Mass.), and sophomore John Lara (South Boston, Mass.) placed fifth with a season-best time of 3:21.23.

Higgins also placed eighth in the 800-meter run with a tome of 1:54.74.

Junior Nick Johnson (Marstons Mills, Mass.) rounded out the Bears' All-New England performers as he finishe fifth in the discus with a toss of 144 feet, seven inches (44.07m).

Bridgewater State finished fifth in the team standings at the meet with 51 points.

Next weekend, qualifying members of the BSU men's outdoor track & field team will compete at the NEICAAA Championships hosted by Southern Connecticut State University.
