Wysong, Carlson, Bain Garner All-New England Honors at DIII New Englands

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University junior Trevor Wysong (Taunton, Mass.) captured the New England title in the 10,000-meter run, while senior Jamie Carlson (Jericho, Vt.) and junior Ryan Bain (Tewksbury, Mass.) also garnered All-New England honors to highlight day two of the 2019 Division III New England Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Williams College on Friday.

Wysong posted a time of 31:35.56 in the 10,000 as he edged senior Josh Rosenkranz (31:40.73) of MIT by just over five seconds to win the event.

Carlson placed seventh in the decathlon with an overall score of 5,251 points. During today's events, Carlson tallied 654 points in the pole vault as he broke his own school record with a vault of 13 feet, 6.5 inches (4.13m). He also notched 549 points in the javelin (155'2"/47.30m), 542 points in the 110-meter hurdles (17.82), 519 points in the discus (107'5"/32.74m) and 257 points in the 1,500-meter run (6:01.79).

Carlson's top finish was in both the pole vault and the javelin as he placed second in each event. He also placed third in the discus, tenth in the hurdles and 11th in the 1,500.

On Thursday, Carlson notched 610 points in the 100-meter dash (12.21), 596 points in the shot put (38'9.75"/11.83m), 528 points in the high jump (5'6"/1.68m), 523 points in the long jump (18'8.5"/5.70m) and 473 points in the 400 (58.29).

Bain placed sixth in the javelin with a throw of 179 feet (54.55m).

Freshman Josh Quinnie (Attleboro, Mass.) place first in the preliminaries of the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.91 seconds, while classmate Jacob DeAndrade (Taunton, Mass.) tied for sixth place in the preliminaries of the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.00 seconds. Quinnie and DeAndrade both advanced to Saturday's finals in their respective events.

The third and final day of the Division III New England Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championships will get underway on Saturday morning at ten.
