Cameron Williamson Named MASCAC Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University senior Cameron Williamson has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.

Williamson captured the meet title in the triple jump at the season-opening Tufts Snowflake Classic held this past weekend at the Dussault Track & Field Complex. The North Easton, Massachusetts product posted a career outdoor-best leap of 47 feet, 2.25 inches (14.38m) to win the event.

Williamson currently ranks first in New England in the triple jump and third in all of Division III. He qualified for the Division III New England Championships in the event.

The MASCAC Field Athlete of the Week honor marks the eighth of Williamson’s career.

The outdoor season continues for the BSU men's track & field team this coming Saturday when the Bears compete at the UMass Dartmouth Corsair Classic.
