BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – For the third straight week and fifth time this season, Bridgewater State University sophomore Joshua Higgins has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.
Higgins finished 12th in the 800-meter run at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships this past weekend with a time of 1:53.96. The Fitchburg, Massachusetts native also ran a leg on the Bears’ 4x400-meter relay team which placed ninth at the NCAA Championships with a school-record time of 3:18.55.
The foursome of Higgins, classmate Lamont Haynes (Boston, Mass.), senior Michael Kotleski (Great Barrington, Mass.) and freshman John Lara (South Boston, Mass.) eclipsed their own previous BSU indoor 4x400 mark of 3:18.76 set 15 days ago at the BU Last Chance Meet.
