WORCESTER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University junior Jamie Carlson (Jericho, Vt.) finished in eighth place at the second and final day of the Holy Cross Decathlon on Friday at the Crusaders' Hart Track.
Carlson posted an overall total of 5,305 points as he notched 2,527 points in Friday's five events. He placed third among the four Division III student-athletes at the meet.
Carlson tallied 613 points in the 110-meter hurdles (17.11), 582 points in the javelin (162'8"/49.58m), 562 points in the pole vault (12'5.5"/3.80m), 493 points in the discus (103'2"/31.44m) and 277 points in the 1,500-meter run (5:56.89). His marks in the hurdles and javelin were both career bests.
