Men's 4x400 Relay Sets School Mark at BU Last Chance Meet

BOSTON, Mass. -- Sophomore Joshua Higgins (Fitchburg, Mass.), freshman John Lara (South Boston, Mass.), senior Michael Kotleski (Great Barrington, Mass.) and sophomore Lamont Haynes (Boston, Mass.) set the school record in the 4x400-meter relay as members of the Bridgewater State University men's indoor track & field team competed at the BU Last Chance Meet on Saturday at the Boston University Track & Tennis Center.

The foursome posted a time of 3:18.76 as they eclipsed the previous BSU indoor mark of 3:19.14 set by Chris Naughton, Kevin Sawyer, Brian Espinosa and Josh Goehring in 2015. The relay squad finished sixth in the event at the meet.

Higgins also finished 24th in the 800-meter run with a career-best time of 1:53.94, while Haynes was 30th in the 200-meter dash with a career-best indoor mark of 22.43 seconds.

Senior Cameron Williamson (North Easton, Mass.) placed third in the triple jump with a career-best leap of 47 feet, one inch (14.35m).

Senior Brayden Hollowell (Nashua, N.H.) placed tenth in the shot put with a toss of 46 feet, four inches (14.12m), while senior Austin James (Mansfield, Mass.) was next in the 11th spot with a mark of 44 feet, 2.75 inches (13.48m).

Sophomore Trevor Wysong (Taunton, Mass.) finished 16th in the 5,000-meter run with a career-best time of 15:19.74. Sophomore Kyle Cordeiro (Westport, Mass.) finished 30th in the 200 with a career-best indoor time of 23.00 seconds. Senior Zack Viera (Fairhaven, Mass.) posted a career-best time of 1:59.60 in the 800 to finish 47th overall.

Next weekend, several members of the BSU men's indoor track & field team will compete at the Tufts Final Qualifying Meet.
