Williamson, Haynes Garner All-New England Honors at DIII New Englands

MIDDLEBURY, Mass. – Bridgewater State University senior Cameron Williamson (North Easton, Mass.) and sophomore Lamont Haynes (Boston, Mass.) garnered All-New England honors on Saturday at the 2018 Division III New England Men's Indoor Track & Field Championships held on Saturday at Middlebury College.

Williamson placed eighth in the triple jump with a leap of 44 feet, nine inches (13.64m), while Haynes finished eighth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 51.00 seconds.

The Bears' 4x800-meter relay squad featuring junior Joseph Keough (Walpole, Mass.), senior Joseph Kisamore (Attleboro, Mass.), freshman Dylan Lynch (East Taunton, Mass.) and senior Zack Viera (Fairhaven, Mass.) posted a time of 8:07.97 to finish ninth overall in the event.

Junior Jamie Carlson (Jericho, Vt.) was tenth in the heptathlon with a final score of 3,637 points. In Saturday's three events, Carlson tallied 652 points in the shot put (41'10"/12.75m), 576 points in the pole vault (12'7.5"/3.85m) and 525 points in the long jump (18'9"/5.71m).

The BSU men's indoor track & field team tied for 26th place (2 pts.) in the team standings. Tufts University won the meet with 110 points, while MIT (97 pts.) and Williams College (92.5 pts.) rounded out the top three.

Next weekend, several members of the BSU men's indoor track & field team will compete at the BU Last Chance Meet.
