Carlson in 10th Place at DIII New England Heptathlon

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. -- Junior Jamie Carlson (Jericho, Vt.) is in 10th place (2,198 pts.) in the heptathlon after four events at the 2018 Division III New Engand Men's Indoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Middlebury College on Friday.

Carlson's top event was the shot put as he recorded a mark of 41 feet, ten inches (12.75m) which was good for 652 points. Carlson also tallied 610 points in the 60-meter dash (7.83), 525 points in the long jump (18'9"/5.71m) and 411 points in the high jump (5'0.25"/1.53m).

Sophomore Charles Moody of the University of Southern Maine lead the pack after four events with 2,651 points. Williams College junior Tommy Riley (2.620 pts.) and sophomore Jack Allan of Brandeis University (2,600 pts.) round ou the top three heptathletes.

The heptathlon will conclude on Saturday morning with the student-athletes competing in the 60-meter hurdles, the pole vault and the 1,000-meter run.
