Joshua Winsper to Compete at U.S. Paralympics Track & Field National Championships

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University freshman Joshua Winsper (Rochester, Mass.) will compete at the 2017 U.S. Paralympics Track & Field National Championships which will take place from June 2-4 on the campus of UCLA in Los Angeles, California.

Competing in the F41 classification, Winsper hit U.S. National qualifying and Emerging Elite standards in both the javelin and shot put.

Winsper posted his top mark in the javelin, 87 feet, eight inches (26.72m), at the season-opening BSU Bears Invitational back on March 25th. He recorded his season-best distance of 29 feet, six inches (8.99m) in the shot put at the MASCAC/New England Alliance Championships on April 29th.

The 2017 U.S. Paralympics Track & Field National Championships will serve as the primary selection event for the World Championships and Junior World Championships Team Selection.

The top ranked athletes from this competition will represent Team USA at the World Para Athletics Championships London 2017 or the World Para Athletics Junior Championships Nottwil (Switzerland) 2017 events.
