BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second straight week, Bridgewater State University freshman Nick Johnson has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Outdoor Track & Field Rookie of the Week.
Johnson placed second in the discus throw at the UMass Dartmouth Classic this past weekend with a season-best mark of 136 feet, six inches (41.61m). The Marstons Mills, Massachusetts product also finished seventh in the hammer throw (127’10”/38.97m) at the meet and eighth in the shot put (40’10.5”/12.46m).
Johnson has qualified for the Division III New England Championships in the discus.
The outdoor season continues for the BSU men's outdoor track & field team on Saturday when the Bears compete at the Yellow Jacket Invitational hosted by AIC.
