BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University freshman Lamont Haynes has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.
Haynes garnered All-New England honors in the 400-meter dash at the NEICAAA Championships held this past weekend at Williams College. The Boston, Massachusetts native placed sixth in the finals of the 400 with a time of 49.25 seconds. He also eclipsed his own school record in the event with a preliminary time of 48.32 seconds.
Haynes currently ranks 27th in all of Division III in the 400.
This marks the third time this season and second straight week that Haynes has earned MASCAC Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week honors.
Haynes will be competing in the 400 as well as the 4x400-meter relay on Thursday at the MIT Last Chance Qualifier.
