BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second time this season, Bridgewater State University freshman Lamont Haynes has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Indoor Track & Field Rookie of the Week. Haynes shares the weekly honor along with Worcester State's Eddy Acuna.
Haynes garnered All-New England honors in the 400-meter dash at the Division III New England Championships hosted by Tufts University this past weekend. The Boston, Massachusetts product posted a time of 50.81 seconds to place seventh in the event.
Next weekend, qualifying members of the BSU men's indoor track & field team will compete at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Championships which will take place at the Reggie Lewis Center.
Haynes has qualified for the NEICAAA Championships in the 400.
