Men's Track & Field Competes at Yellow Jacket Invitational

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University women's outdoor track & field team competed at the Yellow Jacket Invitational hosted by AIC on Saturday.

Freshman Trevor Wysong (Taunton, Mass.) placed fourth in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 32:29.86.

Junior Brayden Hollowell (Nashua, N.H.) finished third in the shot put with a put of 44 feet, 11.75 inches (13.71m), while sophomore Brandon Houle (Cumberland, R.I.) placed third in the javelin with a career-best mark of 176 feet, six inches (53.79m).

Junior Cameron Williamson (North Easton, Mass.) checked in with a fourth place finish in the triple jump with a leap of 44 feet, 3.5 inches (13.50m). Sophomore Jamie Carlson (Maynard, Mass.) also finished fourth in the discus throw with a career-best toss of 133 feet, eight inches (40.75m).

Sophomore Alex Goss (North Dighton, Mass.) posted a career-best time of 22.61 seconds to place sixth in the 200-meter dash. Freshman Kyle Cordeiro (Westport, Mass.) finished 11th in the 200 with a time of 22.85 seconds.

Bridgewater tied for eighth place out of 20 teams at the meet with 47 points.

Wysong, Hollowell, Houle, Williamson, Carlson, Goss and Cordeiro all recorded Division III New England Championships qualifying marks or times. Wysong also qualified for the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Championships in the 10,000.

Next Saturday, the BSU men's outdoor track & field team will compete at the Jerry Gravel Classic hosted by Westfield State University.
