Men’s Track & Field Competes at UMD Corsair Classic

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University men's outdoor track & field team competed at the non-scoring UMass Dartmouth Corsair Classic on Sunday.

Junior Cameron Williamson (North Easton, Mass.) captured top honors in both the long jump and triple jump, while also qualifying for the Division III New England Championships in the triple jump.

Williamson recorded a leap of 43 feet, 2.5 inches (13.17m) in the triple jump, and posted a mark of 20 feet, five inches (6.22m) in the long jump.

Junior Michael Kotleski (Great Barrington, Mass.) placed first in the 400-meter hurdles with a career-best time of 57.13 seconds.

Freshman Lamont Haynes (Boston, Mass.) finished fourth in the 100-meter dash (11.29) and sixth in the 200-meter dash (22.87). Haynes qualified for DIII New Englands in the 200.

Freshman Joshua Higgins (Fitchburg, Nass.) placed third in the 400-meter dash with a DIII New Englands qualifying time of 50.78 seconds.

The Bears' 4x400-meter relay squad featuring Kotleski, Haynes, Higgins and freshman Kyle Cordeiro (Westport, Mass.) placed first in the event with a time of 3:23.51.

Freshman Nick Johnson (Marstons Mills, Mass.) placed second in the discus throw with a season-best mark of 136 feet, six inches (41.61m).

Sophomore Jamie Carlson (Maynard, Mass.) finished third in the pole vault (12'1.5"/3.70m), while freshman Olivier Ndikumana (Amherst, Mass.) also placed third in the long jump (19'10.75"/6.06m).

Junior Austin James (Mansfield, Mass.) was fourth in the shot put (42'9.5"/13.04m), while sophomore Austin Maskell (Weymouth, Mass.) was fourth in the hammer throw (134'4"/40.96m).

Junior Joseph Kisamore (Attleboro, Mass.) and sophomore Joseph Keough (Walpole, Mass.) finished fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 5,000-meter run. Kisamore posted a time of 16:08.23, while Keough recorded a time of 16:15.88.

Next weekend, the Bears will compete at the Yellow Jacket Invitational hosted by AIC.
