BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University freshman Adrian Higgins has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Indoor Track & Field Rookie of the Week.
A native of Milton, Massachusetts, Higgins ran a leg on the Bears' 4x400-meter relay which posted a season-best time of 3:27.93 to place second at the Tufts Cupid Challenge this past weekend. The relay squad qualified for the ECAC Division III Championships in the event.
Higgins also finished seventh and qualified for the New England Division III Championships in the 600-meter run with a time of 1:24.78.
Two weekends ago at the BU John Thomas Terrier Invitational, Higgins qualified for DIII New Englands in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:59.33.
On Saturday, the BSU indoor track and field teams will compete at the MASCAC/New England Alliance Championships hosted by Plymouth State University.
