Men's Indoor Track & Field Seventh in USTFCCCA Computer Rankings

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University men's indoor track & field team is ranked seventh in the latest NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field National Team Computer Rankings released on Tuesday by the U.S. Track & Field & Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

The Bears accrued 87.57 points in this week's computer rankings as they are the top ranked team in New England.  The Bears are also one of five New England squads listed in the top 25. They are joined by the University of Southern Maine (10th, 67.12 pts), Bates College (14th, 55.49 pts), MIT (16th, 49.30 pts) and Tufts University (22nd, 36.28 pts).

Five different BSU student-athletes are ranked in the top 15 in their respective events.  Senior Brian Espinosa (Rehoboth, Mass.) is ranked first in the 200-meter dash and 14th in the long jump, and classmate Chris Perry (Attleboro, Mass.) is second in the triple jump.

Junior Conor Murtagh (Walpole, Mass.) is third in the 60-meter hurdles, while senior Andy Sukeforth (Middleboro, Mass.) is fifth in the mile run and senior Chinedu Chukwu (Randolph, Mass.) is seventh in the 60-meter dash. 

The Division III team rankings are released on a weekly basis until the beginning of the NCAA Championships on March 13. Next week is the seventh and final ranking of the indoor season.
