Andy Sukeforth Named to USTFCCCA All-Academic Team

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State's Andy Sukeforth has been selected to the 2014-2015 United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Track & Field Team.

A total of 297 men from 106 institutions earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors for their combined academic and athletic accomplishments. To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 and have met either of the following athletic standards:

  • Competed in an NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championship
  • Finished the regular season ranked in the national top 35 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 25 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org

Sukeforth, who graduated from Bridgewater State this past May with a degree in History and Public Administration, wrapped up his undergraduate academic career with an impressive 3.70 grade point average.

The Middleboro, Massachusetts product qualified for the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships back in March and placed 11th in the one-mile run with a time of 4:15.94.  He also set the school record in the mile earlier in the season at the the BU John Thomas Terrier Invitational with a time of 4:08.76.

Sukeforth also ranked 29th in all of Division III in the 1,500-meter run during the spring outdoor season with a time of 3:51.96. He posted his season and career-best time at the Princeton Larry Ellis Invitational in April.
