Connor Foley Named to CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-District Squad

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University senior Connor Foley has been selected to the Capital One NCAA Division III Academic All-District One Men's Track and Field/Cross Country Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

A three-sport athlete, Foley advances to the national ballot for All-America consideration. He is the men's track & field program's first student-athlete to earn the honor since Stephen Wahome garnered back-to-back honors in 2012 and 2013.

Of the ten Division III District One honorees, Foley is the only student-athlete from the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) voted to the team.

To be eligible for all-academic honors, a student-athlete must be a starter or a key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director.

A native of Foxborough, Massachusetts, Foley wrapped up his collegiate career with an impressive 3.96 grade point average.  He graduated earlier this month with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History with a minor in Social Studies and was named to the Dean's List in each of his eight semesters at Bridgewater State. Connor is also an eight-time MASCAC All-Academic Team selection.

Foley captured the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) individual title in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the MASCAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships last month. He also helped the Bears claim their third straight New England Alliance crown with a third place showing in the Alliance results. Connor posted a career best time of 9:59.59 in the steeplechase at the NEICAAA Championships.

Connor will attend graduate school at Franklin Pierce University in the fall and will serve as a grad assistant in the Department of Athletics.
