Sukeforth Sets Mile Mark to Lead Men's Track & Field at Terrier Invitational

BOSTON, Mass. -- Senior Andy Sukeforth (Middleboro, Mass.) eclipsed his own school mark in the mile run to lead the Bridgewater State University men's indoor track & field team at the John Thomas Terrier Invitational hosted by Boston University.

The non-scoring meet, which took place at BU's stellar banked track and indoor facility, featured strong competition from several top Division I, II and III schools from around the region as well as local track clubs.

Sukeforth posted a time of 4:08.76 to finish 18th overall in the event and first among Division III runners. He bested his previous BSU indoor mark of 4:12.17 set back in 2013. Sukeforth currently ranks second in all of Division III in the mile.

Junior Conor Murtagh (Walpole, Mass.) placed tenth in the 60-meter hurdkes with a time of 8.33 seconds, while senior Chinedu Chukwu (Randolph, Mass.) finished 12th in the 60-meter dash with a finals time of 6.97 seconds.

Senior Brian Espinosa (Rehoboth, Mass.) posted a time of 22.06 seconds to place 28th in the 200-meter dash, while freshman CameronWillamson (Easton, Mass.) finished 16th in the triple jump with a leap of 44 feet, 4.75 inches (13.53 meters). Williamson qualified for the ECAC Division III Championships in the triple jump with his season-best mark.

Senior Ian Knapton (Mattapoisett, Mass.) and freshman Darion Sadri (Northfield, Mass.) placed 14th (21'5.25") and 15th (21'4.75"), respectively, in the long jump.

Next weekend, the BSU indoor track & field teams compete at the Tufts Invitational.
