Vieira, Barrow Set School Marks at Harvard Open

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Senior Fernando Vieira (Mattapoisett, MA) and junior Tim Barrow (Woburn, MA) each set a new school record as the Bridgewater State College men's indoor track team competed at the Harvard Open on Saturday.

Vieira eclipsed his own 500-meter dash record as he posted a time of 1:07.86 which was good enough for 11th place at the meet.  He surpassed his old mark of 1:08.11 set in 2006. Vieira also finished 11th in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.19 seconds.

Barrow broke Chad Natti's 800-meter run mark of 1:58.71 as he placed eighth at the meet with a time of 1:57.60.

Also highlighting the meet for the Bears were juniors Chris Clark (Pittsfield, MA) and Avery Bouchard (Fall River, MA). Clark placed fifth in the shot put with a distance of 45 feet, 7.64 inches.  He came a couple of inches short of his own school record of 47 feet, 2.50 inches. Bouchard finsihed seventh overall in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 16:02.64.
