A Pair of Men's Track Records Fall at Husky Winter Carnival

BOSTON, Mass. -- A pair of school records were broken as the Bridgewater State College men's indoor track & field team competed at the season-opening Husky Winter Carnival hosted by Northeastern University on Saturday at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston.

Junior Tim Barrow (Woburn, MA) placed fourth in the one-mile run as he broke his own school record with a time of 4:20.08.  His old record of 4:25.86 was accomplished last year at the same Husky Winter Carnival.

Senior Fernando Vieira (Mattapoisett, MA) captured an 11th place finish in the 400-meter dash with a time of :51.30.  Vieira eclipsed his own school mark of :52.04 which he set last season at the Reggie Poyau Invitational hosted by Brandeis University. 

Also placing high for the Bears was senior Nilton Gomes (Fall River, MA) who posted a 14th place finish in the triple jump with a distance of 39 feet, 8 inches (12.09 m).
