Pavao, Lamusta named to All-Little East Men's Tennis Team

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University seniors Jeff Pavao and Colin Lamusta have been named as first team selections for both singles and doubles play on the 2022 Little East Men's Tennis All-Conference Team.

Pavao and Lamusta, who are both making their first appearance on the All-Little East Team, are two of 14 student-athletes who earned all-conference honors. Pavao was also named to the LEC All-Sportsmanship Team.

Pavao posted an 8-6 singles record competing exclusively at the top flight during the 2022 campaign. The Somerset, Massachusetts product also went 4-2 in conference regular season play.

Lamusta, who hails from Lynnfield, Massachusetts, went 5-7 out of the second flight with a 2-2 mark versus Little East opponents.

In first doubles play, the tandem of Pavao and Lamusta finished 7-6 overall with a 2-2 Little East mark. Pavao also teamed with graduate student Sean Nutter (Mattapoisett, Mass.) a pair of LEC first flight doubles victories.

In 28 career singles matches over three seasons at Bridgewater State, Pavao went 10-18 with a 6-7 LEC mark. He also posted a career record of 17-28 (5-8 LEC) in doubles play.

Lamusta produced an 8-20 singles record (3-7 LEC) over three seasons with the Bears. He also went 10-19 in doubles competition (4-6 LEC) in 29 career matches.

The BSU men's tennis team completed the 2022 campaign with an overall record of 10-5 (4-2 LEC). Seeded third in the Little East Tournament, the Bears won their opening round match against #6 Southern Maine, 5-0, before dropping a 5-3 decision to #2 Salem State in the semifinals.

Notes: Pavao and Lamusta are the Bears' first All-Little East Men's Tennis selections since Matt McGree and Chris Jastrab in 2017.
