Men's Tennis Falls to Western Connecticut, 6-3

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – The visiting Western Connecticut State University men's tennis team posted a 6-3 victory over Bridgewater State University in a Little East Conference (LEC) match on Saturday afternoon at the Rosen Memorial Tennis Courts.

The Colonials improve to 2-7 on the season and 2-3 in the Little East, while the host Bears fall to 1-4 overall and 1-4 in conference play.

Western captured two out of the three doubles matches and four of the six singles flights to pick up the win. The Colonials, who were playing shorthanded, forfeited matches at third doubles and sixth singles.

Sophomore Aaron Campos (Ridgefield, Conn.) posted a 6-2, 6-1 straight set triumph at first singles and teamed with junior Chauncey Allers (Wilton, Mass.) for an 8-4 victory at the top doubles flight to highlight the win for the Colonials.

Senior Dan O'Malley (Duxbury, Mass.) battled to a tough 7-6 (7-1), 7-5 straight set decision at third singles to lead the way for Bridgewater State.

The Bears entertain the College of the Holy Cross on Sunday morning at eleven, while the Colonials travel to Mount Saint Mary College on Monday afternoon for a four o'clock match with the Knights.
