BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Bridgewater State University senior Matt McGee has been selected as the Little East Conference Men’s Tennis Player of the Week.
McGee won in straight sets, 6-0, 6-2, at top singles in a 5-4 setback to UMass Dartmouth. The Warren, Rhode Island product also teamed with classmate Chris Jastrab (Chicago, Ill.) for an 8-2 win at #1 doubles against the Corsairs.
In eight matches this season, McGee is 3-5 in singles play and 7-1 in doubles competing exclusively at the top flight in both. He is 3-1 against Little East singles opponents and a perfect 4-0 in conference doubles competition.
The BSU men's team is currently 4-4 on the season and 2-2 in the Little East. The Bears travel to the University of Southern Maine on Tuesday afternoon for a 2:30 conference match with the Huskies.
