Matt McGee, Chris Jastrab named to All-Little East Men's Tennis Team

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University seniors Matt McGee (Warren, R.I) and Chris Jastrab (Chicago, Ill.) have been named as first team selections for both singles and doubles play on the 2017 Little East Men's Tennis All-Conference Team.

McGee and Jastrab are two of 16 student-athletes named to the All-Little East Team by a vote of the league's seven head coaches. McGee is making his second consecutive appearance on the all-conference team while Jastrab is making his first.

McGee posted a 3-10 singles record competing exclusively at the top flight during the 2017 campaign. The Warren, Rhode Island product also went 3-3 in conference regular season play.

Jastrab posted an impressive 12-1 singles record competing at the second flight. He was also a perfect 8-0 versus Little East opponent.

In first doubles play, the tandem of McGee and Jastrab finished 9-4 overall with a 4-2 Little East mark. They finished with the second best winning percentage of any doubles tandem in the conference.

In 41 career singles matches over four years at Bridgewater State, McGee went 10-31 with a 6-12 LEC mark. He also posted a career record of 16-23 (7-11 LEC) in doubles play.

Jastrab produced a 16-5 singles record (8-1 LEC) in 21 career matches over two seasons with the Bears. He also went 14-8 in doubles competition (6-4 LEC).

The BSU men's tennis team completed the 2017 campaign with an overall record of 6-7 (3-3 LEC). Seeded 4th in the Little East Tournament, the Bears won their opening round match against #5 Salem State, 5-3 before being knocked out by #1 UMass Boston, 5-2, in the semifinals.
