Chris Jastrab Named Little East Men’s Tennis Player of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – For the second straight week and third time this season, Bridgewater State University senior Chris Jastrab has been selected as the Little East Conference Men’s Tennis Player of the Week.

A native of Chicago, Illinois, Jastrab went 2-0 in singles play and 2-0 in doubles competition in a perfect 2-0 week for the Bears as he extended his season-long singles winning streak to six matches and doubles winning streak to five.

Jastrab won in straight sets in both of his second flight singles matches versus his opponents from Wentworth and Western Connecticut State University. He also teamed with classmate Matt McGee (Warren, R.I.) for a pair of wins at the top doubles flight.

In six matches this season, Jastrab is a perfect 6-0 in second flight singles play and 5-1 at top flight doubles.

In two seasons with the Bears, Jastrab is 10-4 in singles play competing exclusively at the second flight. He also boasts a 10-5 doubles record.

The BSU men's team is currently 4-2 on the season (2-1 LEC) as the Bears surpassed their overall win total (three) from a year ago. The Bears host Little East rival UMass Dartmouth on Tuesday afternoon at three.
