Men's Tennis Falls to Wheaton, 9-0

NORTON, Mass. – The Wheaton College men's tennis team defeated Bridgewater State University, 9-0, in non-conference action on Tuesday evening inside the Haas Athletic Center.

The host Lyons (4-1) captured all three doubles matches and each of the six singles flights to pick up the win.  The game marked the season opener for the Bears (0-1).

Senior Sean Bleau (North Dighton, Mass.) battled hard for the visitors in the setback playing at both the top singles and doubles flights.

Bleau dropped a 6-3, 6-1 decision to junior David Gassen (Dusseldorf, Germany) in the match-up of the first flight singles players.

In doubles play, Bleau teamed with sophomore Matt McGee (Warren, R.I.) in an 8-3 loss to the Lyons' number one pair of Gassen and senior Lawrence Chan (Lincoln, R.I.) 

In upcoming action, Wheaton travels to Brandeis University on Saturday for a non-conference matchup against the Judges at 3 p.m. Bridgewater State visits Little East Conference foe Western Connecticut State University on Saturday at 1 p.m.
