BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Bridgewater State University senior Jesse Gotlib has been named to the Spring 2014 Little East Conference (LEC) All-Academic Team as announced by LEC Media Relations Director, Megan Erbes.

To earn a spot on the Spring All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.3 or higher through the 2014 spring semester and be at least a sophomore academically and athletically. The student-athlete must also be a full-time member of a varsity sport and be enrolled in its institution for a full academic year.

Gotlib graduated Cum Laude from BSU this past May with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics.   In four seasons with the Bears’ men’s tennis team, the Dartmouth, Massachusetts native posted a 24-29 (.453) singles record including a 10-12 (.455) mark in Little East play.  He also finished 25-29 (.463) in doubles competition with a 10-13 (.435) LEC mark.

The Little East Conference began honoring an all-academic team during the 2007-08 academic year.  While the majority of Bridgewater State varsity squads are members of the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC), three BSU teams call the Little East home.  Field hockey and women’s tennis compete in the Little East in the fall and men’s tennis in the spring.
