Men's Tennis Defeats Rhode Island College, 7-2

Providence, R.I. -- Senior Matt Charest (Somerset, MA) and freshman Duncan Yarworth (Wrentham, MA) won straight set matches at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively, and combined to earn a victory at the top doubles spot as Bridgewater State ended the regular season with a 7-2 win at Rhode Island College on Saturday afternoon.

The Bears raise their overall record to 10-6 and their Little East Conference mark to 4-2, while the Anchormen fall to 2-12 overall and 0-6 in league play.

The Little East Conference Tournament begins for both clubs on Tuesday, April 28. Bridgewater is seeded third in the tournament and will host sixth seeded UMass Boston in first round action.

BSC sophomore David Campbell (Vineyard Haven, MA) earned a victory at No. 4 singles and freshman Mike Zagame (Uxbridge, MA) won at No. 5 as the visitors took five of six in individual action and two of three in doubles matches.

RIC sophomore Mike Aiello (Scituate, RI) won the lone singles match for the hosts at the third spot.
