Men's Swimming & Diving Falls to Wheaton, 140-80

NORTON, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University men's swimming & diving team competed on Wednesday evening at a dual meet hosted by Wheaton College at the Balfour Natatorium.

The host Lyons won the meet by a score of 140-80 as they posted first-place performances in 11 of the 13 events.

BSU senior Joseph Capella (New Bedford, Mass.) captured top honors in both diving competitions. Capella posted a score of 164.93 points on the one-meter board and 196.50 points on the three-meter.

Seniors Timucin Marino (East Greenwich, R,I.), Giulian Santos (Framingham, Mass.) and Dylon Willis (Attleboro, Mass.), and freshman Chris Anastasiades (Wakefield, Mass.) all recorded second-place performances for the Bears. Marino in the 500 freestyle (5:22.98), Santos in the 50 freestyle (22.76), Willis in the 100 breaststroke (1:02.30) and Anastasiades in the 100 butterfly (55.28).

The Bears travel to Clark University on Saturday afternoon for a one o'clock meet with the Cougars.
