Men’s Swimming & Diving Posts 183-91 Win over Regis

WESTON, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University men's swimming & diving team posted a 183-91 victory over Regis College on Saturday at the Regis Aquatics Center.

The Bears earned victories in 10 of the 15 events on the day.

Senior Dylon Willis (Attleboro, Mass.) won two individual events and two relays to lead the way for Bridgewater State.

Willis captured top honors in both the 50 breaststroke (27.98) and the 100 breaststroke (1:02.10). He tied the pool record (his own) in the 50 breaststroke which he originally set on January 27, 2018.

The Bears' foursome of Willis, senior Sean Flaherty (North Andover, Mass.), freshman Chris Anastasiades (Wakefield, Mass.) and senior Giulian Santos (Framingham, Mass.) placed first in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:40.57.

Flaherty, Willis, Santos and freshman Ben Wilkinson (Reading, England) won the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:35.05.

Wilkinson added a pair of victories in the 100 freestyle (51.75) and the 100 individual medley (59.21), while Santos won the 50 freestyle (22.78) and Flaherty placed first in the 100 backstroke (1:00.44).

Senior Timucin Marino (East Greenwich, R.I.) was the first to touch the wall in the 500 freestyle (5:31.37).

Senior Joseph Capella (New Bedford, Mass.) won the one-meter diving competition with an 11-dive score of 304.33 points.

The Bears (1-0) will host UMass Dartmouth on Wednesday evening at six.
