Men's Swimming & Diving Drops 166-64 Decision to Bentley

WALTHAM, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University men's swimming & diving team dropped a 166-64 decision to Division II Bentley University on Wednesday night at the Dana Center Pool.

The Bears fall to 4-5 in dual meet competition on the season with the setback.

Junior Dylon Willis (Attleboro, Mass.) placed second in the 50 freestyle with a career-best time of 23.21 seconds. Willis also finished second in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:00.24.

Senior Jameson Rose (Somerset, Mass.) posted a season-best time of 56.95 seconds in the 100 butterfly to finish third in the event.

Junior Timucin Marino (East Greenwich, R.I.) placed third in the 1,000 freestyle (10:53.67), while classmate Sean Flaherty (North Andover, Mass.) recorded a third-place showing in the 200 individual medley (2:07.59).

Junior Joseph Capella (New Bedford, Mass.) posted a score of 182.55 points to finish third in the one-meter diving competition.

The Bears' relay squad featuring senior Sean Collette (Waltham, Mass.), junior Eric Henderson (Cumberland, R.I.) and sophomores Casey Cross (Attleboro, Mass.) and Michael Leung (Wakefield, Mass.) placed third in the 400 medley relay with a time of 4:23.63.

The Bears are back in action on Saturday, February 2nd when they travel to Babson College for a one o'clock meet with the Beavers.
