Men's Swimming & Diving Drops 135-104 Decision to UMass Dartmouth

DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The Bridgewater State University men's swimming & diving team dropped a 135-104 decision to host UMass Dartmouth on Tuesday evening at the Tripp Athletic Center.

The visiting Bears (1-1) won five events at the dual meet including both relays.

Senior Jameson Rose (Somerset, Mass.), juniors Sean Flaherty (North Andover, Mass.) and Dylon Willis (Attleboro, Mass.), and sophomore  Michael Leung (Wakefield, Mass.) opened the meet with a victory in the 400 medley relay as the foursome posted a time of 3:47.25.

Rose, Flaherty, senior Robert McDougall (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) and junior Giulian Santos (Framingham, Mass.) capped off the evening by posting a winning time of 3:23.83 in the 400 freestyle relay.

Flaherty also captured top honors in the 100 backstroke (57.34), while Santos was the first to touch the wall in the 50 freestyle (22.65). Willis added a victory in the 100 breaststroke (1:01.19).

Senior Alexander Belinsky (Norton, Mass.) placed second in both diving events. Belinsky posted a score of 196.55 points on the one-meter board and 238.45 points on the three-meter.

In upcoming action, the Bears return to UMass Dartmouth on Saturday for the Louise Goodrum Invitational.
