Men's Swimming & Diving Cruises to 176-115 Win over Clark

WORCESTER, Mass. – The visiting Bridgewater State University men's swimming & diving team cruised to a 176-115 victory over Clark University on Saturday afternoon at the Kneller Center Pool.

The Bears, who placed first in 12 of the 16 events, improve to 3-2 in dual meet competition on the season with the win.

Junior Jameson Rose (Somerset, Mass.) won three individual events to lead the way for Bridgewater State. Rose captured top honors in the 1,000 freestyle (10:29.85), 200 backstroke (2:04.45) and the 500 freestyle (5:08.22).

The BSU quartet of senior Richard Smith (Milford, Mass.), sophomore Dylon Willis (Attleboro, Mass.), freshman Quinn McAlear (Norton, Mass.) and sophomore Sean Flaherty (North Andover, Mass.) opened the meet with a victory in the 200 medley relay (1:40.49).

Smith added individual wins in the 100 backstroke (56.19) and the 400 individual medley (4:24.50), while Willis also placed first in the 100 breaststroke (1:01.22) and the 200 breaststroke (2:19.01).

Junior Alexander Belinsky (Norton, Mass.) won both diving events as he posted a score of 201.55 points on the one-meter board and 213.00 points on the three-meter.

Sophomore Giulian Santos (Framingham, Mass.) rounded out the Bears' individual event winners as he was the first to touch the wall in the 50 freestyle (23.12). Santos also ran a leg on the winning 200 freestyle relay (1:32.00) squad along with Flaherty, senior Max Medina (Marion, Mass.) and McAlear.

In upcoming action, the BSU men's swimming & diving team travels to Roger Williams University on Wednesday afternoon for four o'clock meet with the Hawks.
