Men's Swimming & Diving Earns 2017 CSCAA Team Scholar Award

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – The Bridgewater State University men's swimming and diving team has been honored as a Scholar All-American team by the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA).

The Bears are one of the more than 700 NCAA, NAIA or junior college teams to be recognized for their academic excellence in the classroom.

This marks the first time in the 95-year history of the CSCAA that more than 700 teams have received Scholar All-America recognition. In total, 720 teams, representing 443 institutions achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the Spring 2017 Semester. Part of the reason for the increase in award-winning teams is the overall growth of the sport.  The number of men's and women's institutions sponsoring swimming and diving is at a ten-year high.

The BSU men's swimming and diving team accumulated a solid 3.06 GPA for the 2017 spring semester.

Founded in 1922, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) – the oldest organization of college coaches in America -is a professional organization of college swimming and diving coaches dedicated to serving and providing leadership for the advancement of the sport of swimming & diving at the collegiate level.
