Rose, 800 Free Relay Squad Set School Marks at NEISDA Championships

KINGSTON, R.I. -- The Bridgewater State University men's 800 freestyle relay squad garnered All-NEISDA honors and eclipsed a 21-year old school mark during the opening session of the 2017 New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association (NEISDA) Division III Championships held at the University of Rhode Island on Thursday evening.

Sophomore Jameson Rose (Somerset, Mass.), freshman Giulian Santos (Framingham, Mass.) and juniors Max Medina (Marion, Mass.) and Richard Smith (Milford, Mass.) combined to record a time of 7:12.30 as they placed third at the meet.

The foursome broke the previous BSU program mark of 7:14.82 set back in 1996 by Dave Cangiano, Adam Budd, Eric Majeran and Kyle Browning. The All-NEISDA honor was the first in program history for a BSU relay team.

Rose, in his leg of the relay, posted a time of 1:46.39 as he knocked off Cangiano's 200 freestyle record of 1:46.81 also set back in 1996.
