Men's Swim Team in 10th Place at NEISDA Championships

BRISTOL, R.I. -- The Bridgewater State College men's swimming & diving team is in tenth place in a 13-team field after the second day of action at the three-day New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association (NEISDA) Division II/III Championships held on the campus of Roger Williams University.

The Bears have tallied 54 points over the first two day's of events. Keene State is in first place with 447 points followed by Bentley University with 352 and host Roger Williams with 233.

One BSC swimmer and two relay teams were in Saturday evening's finals.

Senior Sam Herman (Londonderry, NH) posted an eighth place finish in the 100 backstroke with a time of :57.16.

The 200 medley relay team of Herman, senior Josh Sturges (Corpus Christi, TX) and sophomores Ken Berardi (Hanover, MA) and Matt Brown (Burlington, MA) was tenth in the event with a time of 1:46.55.  The 800 freestyle relay team consisting of Sturges, Berardi, Brown and junior Stephen Diver (Brockton, MA) finished in ninth place with a time of 8:00.08.

The championship meet will conclude on Sunday.
