
BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University sophomore midfielder Ethan Mallett has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
Mallett tallied two goals, both game-winners, and added an assist for five points in a perfect 2-0 week for the Bears. The Ellington, Connecticut product potted the game-winning goal in the Bears’ 1-0 shutout of Salve Regina University to give BSU head coach Brendan Adams his 200th career win. Mallett also scored the game-winning goal and dished out an assist in a 5-1 MASCAC victory over Framingham State University.
In 30 career games over his first two seasons at Bridgewater State, Mallett has recorded four goals and five assists for 13 points. Three of his four goals have been game-winners.
The MASCAC Player of the Week honor marks the first of Mallett's career.
The BSU men's soccer team is currently 5-3-2 on the season and a perfect 3-0 in the MASCAC standings. The Bears entertain #5 Middlebury College on Tuesday afternoon at four o'clock.
