Men's Soccer Bows to Framingham, 1-0

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. -- Sophomore forward Akeem Bucknor's (Manchester, Jamaica) goal in the 14th minute held up as the Framingham State University men's soccer team blanked visiting Bridgewater State University, 1-0, on Saturday at Maple Street Field.

The host Rams improve to 5-3-1 on the season and 1-0-1 in the MASCAC, while the Bears fall to 4-4 overall and 0-2 in conference play.

FSU junior goalkeeper Corey Davidge (Blackstone, Mass.) made nine saves to record his fourth win of the season and fourth shutout.

Framingham held a slight 17-15 shot advantage while Bridgewater finished with a 9-7 edge in corner kick attempts.

Junior Nate Morgado (Dartmouth, Mass.) made nine saves in the  setback for the Bears.

BSU senior forward Kessy Alves (Brockton, Mass.) finished with a game-high five shots including three on frame.

The Bears are off until next Saturday when they host MASCAC rival Fitchburg State University at noon. The Rams travel to Pine Manor College on Wednesday afternoon for a four o'clock non-conference affair with the Gators.
