Admar Jaramillo Named MASCAC Men's Basketball Rookie of The Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University freshman guard Admar Jaramillo has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) GEICO Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week. GEICO is the proud sponsor of the MASCAC weekly awards program.

Jaramillo averaged 14 points, 2.5 rebounds, three assists, and two steals while shooting 47.6% (10-21) from the field this past weekend at the 2018 Music City Classic in Gallatin, Tennessee. The Brockton, Massachusetts native tallied nine points, two rebounds, two assists, two steals and a blocked shot in an 80-77 overtime win over Wisconsin-Eau Claire. He also notched a career-high 19 points to go along with three boards, four assists and a pair of steals in a 79-63 setback to Ripon College.

In ten games this season, Jaramillo is averaging 6.4 points, 1.7 assists and 1.3 steals in 15.1 minutes per game while shooting 77.8% (14-18) at the free throw line.

The BSU men's basketball team is currently 2-10 on season. The Bears are off until Wednesday, January 9th when they open up MASCAC play at MCLA. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 PM.
