Admar Jaramillo Named MASCAC Men's Basketball Rookie of The Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second straight week and third time this season, Bridgewater State University freshman guard Admar Jaramillo has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) GEICO Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week. GEICO is the proud sponsor of the MASCAC weekly awards program.

Jaramillo averaged ten points, 2.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 3.5 steals and one blocked shot in a perfect 2-0 week for the Bears last week while shooting 47% (8-17) from the floor and 75% (3-4) at the free throw line. The Brockton, Massachusetts native notched nine points, three rebounds, five assists, four steals and a pair of blocks in an 83-73 MASCAC win over Worcester State. He also tallied 11 points, two boards, two assists and three steals in a 95-90 conference victory at Fitchburg State.

In 16 games this season, Jaramillo is averaging 7.8 points, 2.6 assists and 2.1 steals in 19.9 minutes per game while shooting 80% (28-35) at the free throw line. He ranks second in the MASCAC in steals and eighth in assists.

The BSU men's basketball team is currently 5-13 on season and 3-3 in the MASCAC. The Bears entertain conference rival MCLA on Wednesday evening at 5:30.
