Brendan Adams Named EMSCA College Coach of the Year

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University head men's soccer coach, Brendan Adams, has been selected as the 2018 Eastern Massachusetts Soccer Coaches Association (EMSCA) Mathew Cushing College Coach of the Year.

Adams was presented the award at a ceremony during the EMSCA All-Star Games on Friday, November 23rd at Quincy Stadium in Quincy, Massachusetts. Mike Madden (president) and Richard Hanlon (secretary/treasurer) represented the EMSCA at the ceremony.

Adams guided the BSU men's soccer team to the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Tournament title in 2018 and a trip to the NCAA Division III Tournament. The Bears posted an overall record of 11-8-1 and tied for second in the MASCAC regular season standings with a 5-2 conference mark.

In 17 seasons at the helm of the BSU men's soccer program, Adams has produced an overall coaching record of 164-129-30 (.554) including a 73-31-15 regular season mark against MASCAC opponents (.676). The Bears captured MASCAC Tournament championships and advanced to the NCAA Tournament in 2004, 2007, 2013, 2015 and 2018. Bridgewater State also won the conference regular season crown in 2003, 2009 and 2014.

The all-time winningest coach in program history, Adams is a four-time MASCAC Coach of the Year recipient as he garnered the honor in 2003, 2009, 2014 and 2015.
