BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University freshman forward Rayshon Ward has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week.
A native of Plymouth, Massachusetts, Ward averaged 7.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists while shooting 63% (5-8) from the floor in a 1-1 week for the Bears.
Ward tallied ten points, two rebounds and an assist in 16 minutes off the bench in an 88-54 MASCAC win over MCLA. He also notched five points, three boards, two assists, a steal and a blocked shot in a 72-67 conference setback to Westfield State University.
In 24 games this season, Ward has accumulated 66 points, 39 rebounds, 13 assists, ten steals and six blocks. He is currently shooting 43% (25-58) from the floor and 70% (14-20) at the free throw line.
