Judah Jackson Named MASCAC Men's Basketball Rookie of the Year

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State College freshman guard Judah Jackson has been selected as the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Basketball Rookie of the Year in all-conference voting results released by MASCAC Commissioner, Angela Baumann.

A native of Everett, Massachusetts, Jackson averaged 12.1 points a game while shooting 45% (128-for-286) from the floor and 68% (40-for-59) at the free throw line in his rookie season.  He played in all 26 games for the Bears making 17 starts.

Jackson ranked 14th among the conference leaders in scoring with his 12.1 points per game.  He also tied for 12th in the MASCAC in steals with 1.38 per game.

Jackson finished in double figure scoring in 16 games this season including a season-high 23 points at Worcester State on January 29th.

At the College of Staten Island Tournament of Heroes back in late December, Jackson was named to the All-Tournament Team as he helped the Bears captured the championship.  Jackson scored 17 points and pulled down 6 boards in BSC's 87-83 win over host Staten Island and then poured in 20 points in the Bears' 88-75 championship game win over Whitworth University.

The last BSC men's basketball player to earn conference rookie of the year honors was teammate Tom Cuddihy in 2004-2005.
